Small Group Structure / Function
Planning processes revolve around planning workgroups. They usually consist of no more
than 5-7 individuals who are:
- Visionary
- Able to ask what the current resources will support
- Able to identify realistic projected goals, objectives, strategies and tactics
- Able to make decisions (formally and informally)
- Respected within the host organization
- Committed to process completion
The planning process is much more likely to have a successful and expeditious outcome if
there is careful attention to leadership,
group formation and
group function.
