| CPS offers end-of-life education to over 500 nurses each year who are enrolled in baccalaureate, associate and licensed vocational programs at various points in the student's curriculum. | ||
|
Educational needs of individual nurses are also accommodated. Students needing to meet requirements in nursing management and nurse practitioner courses and programs are also included. Home care, palliative home healthcare and inpatient settings are utilized. Students have the opportunity to be precepted for a full day or longer, depending on individual and course objectives. For students not able to be in the clinical areas, two-hour sessions are offered that introduce concepts of palliative and hospice nursing and offer a tour of the San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care Inpatient Care Center.
