| CPS offers courses to both orient and support patient care volunteers. | ||

Course 1: Basic Patient Care Training Level: Open to anyone This sixteen hour basic patient care training course provides potential volunteers with an understanding of SDHPC services and the role of the volunteer in the interdisciplinary team. It focuses on strategies for effective communication with patient, family and team. Completion of this course equips participants to work in patients homes or in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
