Ann Sturley, BSN, MPH, DrPH, is the Associate Manager, Research at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care, a teaching affiliate of the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine. In this role she:
Dr. Sturley received her BA degree in Anthropology from Beloit College in 1970, then a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Masters and Doctorate in Public Health, all from the University of Hawaii. In developing countries, ie, Nepal, Malawi, she has managed and evaluated community health programs. She has designed health education materials for low-literate audiences, and helped local staff create their own research agenda. In the United States, she has designed and managed a broad range of research studies. Dr. Sturley brings a commitment to improving access to palliative services for members of all ethnic groups, and a dedication to matching the most appropriate research methods to each research question. |
