Barbara L. Bailey, MS, RN, is the Associate Manager, Education Programs at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care, a teaching affiliate of the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine.

She has an extensive background as an educator and hospice clinician. She is particularly involved in programs for physician education from first-year medical students to clinicians-in-practice.

Barbara received a Bachelors of Science in nursing degree from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1962. She subsequently earned a Master of Science degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1965.

She is a certified Nurse Educator. She held several positions in college nursing faculties before joining the staff of San Diego Hospice and Palliative.
