Roger A. Strong, RN, MSN, FNP is a nurse practitioner at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care. He works closely with the interdisciplinary staff to care for patients in the 24-bed Inpatient Care Center. He also collaborates in the education of health care professionals and the conduct of research as a faculty member of the Center for Palliative Studies. He is particularly interested in the collaborative relationship between nurse practitioner and physician in providing hospice and palliative care. He is actively involved in community and nursing education. Roger received his Associate of Science degree in nursing from Southwestern College, San Diego, California in 1985 and his Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 1991. In 1993 he received his Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of California, San Diego while simultaneously working on his Master of Science in Nurse, Family Practitioner Degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Roger is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of San Diego School of Nursing. Roger previously worked as an administrator/director of nurses in home health agencies. |
